John Alderdice, Baron Alderdice is a Northern Irish politician and psychiatrist who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 1996. A prominent figure in Northern Irish politics, he led the Alliance Party from 1987 to 1998 and served as the first Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for power-sharing and peace-building, notably leading delegations during the Northern Ireland peace process.
