John Berger is an Australian politician and former trade union official who has served as a member of the Victorian Legislative Council for the Southern Metropolitan Region since December 2022. He also serves as the Deputy Government Whip in the Legislative Council. Before entering parliament, Berger held senior leadership roles within the Transport Workers Union, including State Secretary of the Victoria/Tasmania branch and National President. Throughout his career, he has been a vocal advocate for workers' rights, including the criminalization of wage theft and improved safety standards for transport workers.
