John Blair

John Blair is a Northern Ireland politician serving as the Deputy Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly since 2024. A member of the Alliance Party, he has represented South Antrim as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) since 2018. Blair previously served as a councillor for Newtownabbey Borough Council and the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. He is notable for being the first openly gay member of the Northern Ireland Assembly and has been an active participant in the British–Irish Parliamentary Assembly and the Northern Ireland Policing Board.
