John Gillespie

John Gillespie is an American politician serving as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for the 97th District since 2021. A Republican, he has focused his legislative efforts on public safety, including sponsoring the Safe Seniors Act of 2021 and various bills aimed at increasing penalties for criminal offenses and protecting vulnerable adults. Before his election, Gillespie worked in the finance sector for local banks and in grant research. He is a graduate of High Point University and a native of Memphis, Tennessee.
