John Robert Lamont is a Scottish Conservative politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk since 2017. Prior to his election to the House of Commons, he served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for Roxburgh and Berwickshire from 2007 to 2017. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held various roles, including Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Scotland and Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland. In July 2025, he was appointed as the Shadow Deputy Leader of the House of Commons. Before entering politics, Lamont worked as a solicitor in London and Edinburgh.
