José Antonio Monago

José Antonio Monago is a Spanish politician currently serving as a member of the Senate of Spain, representing the province of Badajoz. A member of the People's Party, he previously served as the President of the Regional Government of Extremadura from 2011 to 2015, becoming the first member of his party to hold that office. Before his tenure as regional president, he served as a city councillor in Badajoz and as a deputy in the Extremaduran Assembly. Monago holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Salamanca and currently chairs the Senate Budget Committee.
