Josée Verner is a Canadian politician currently serving as a member of the Senate of Canada. She previously represented the electoral district of Louis-Saint-Laurent in the House of Commons from 2006 to 2011, during which time she held several cabinet positions in the government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, including Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister for La Francophonie. After leaving the House of Commons, she was appointed to the Senate in 2011. Throughout her career, she has been affiliated with the Conservative Party of Canada, the Action démocratique du Québec, and currently sits with the Canadian Senators Group.
