Josh MacAlister is a British Labour politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Whitehaven and Workington since 2024 and as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families since 2025. A former teacher and founder of the social work training programme Frontline, he previously chaired the independent review of children's social care. MacAlister was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2023 for his services to vulnerable children and is an active member of his local mountain rescue team.
