Khomotjo Joy Maimela is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly since June 2024. She currently chairs the Portfolio Committee on Basic Education. Before entering parliament, Maimela was a prominent youth leader, serving as the national coordinator of the ANC Youth League's National Youth Task Team from 2021 to 2023. A former mineworker at Glencore's Mototolo Mine, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in governance, administration and development from the University of South Africa and has been active in various youth and student political organizations since her youth.
