Juan Vargas

Juan Carlos Vargas is an American politician and businessman who has served as the U.S. Representative for California's 51st congressional district since 2013. Born in National City, California, to immigrant parents, he holds degrees from the University of San Diego, Fordham University, and Harvard Law School. Before his election to Congress, Vargas served on the San Diego City Council, in the California State Assembly, and in the California State Senate. Throughout his career, he has focused on issues such as economic development, immigration reform, and social services. He is a member of several caucuses, including the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the New Democrat Coalition, and maintains a consistent record of supporting progressive social policies.
