Kanji Ueno is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Hiroshima Prefectural Assembly, representing Aki Ward in Hiroshima City. After graduating from Meiji University, he worked at Pioneer Corporation, participated in the JICA Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers in Dominica, and earned a master's degree in policy studies from the University of Edinburgh. He also served at the Reconstruction Agency and worked in social welfare before being elected to the prefectural assembly in 2023. Additionally, he serves as the deputy chief priest of Manpuku-ji Temple and is a qualified national interpreter guide.
