Kate Hoey is a British politician and life peer who currently serves as a member of the House of Lords. Born in Mallusk, Northern Ireland, she previously served as the Member of Parliament for Vauxhall from 1989 to 2019, during which time she held ministerial roles including Minister for Sport. Originally a member of the Labour Party, she became known for her Eurosceptic views and support for Brexit, eventually resigning from the party in 2020.
