Ayuko Kato is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party. The daughter of former Chief Cabinet Secretary Koichi Kato, she entered politics after working in business and serving as a secretary to Seiko Noda. She studied at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Kato has held several government positions, including Minister of State for Special Missions for Children and Youth Empowerment, and has served as the head of the LDP's Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Division. Her policy interests include regional revitalization, child-rearing support, and infrastructure development.
