Kazuhiro Morimoto is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as the Mayor of Minamiawaji in Hyogo Prefecture. Born in 1961, he graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Law and began his career at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1984. He later earned a degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and held various senior positions within the ministry, including Director-General of the Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry. Morimoto was first elected as Mayor of Minamiawaji in 2017 and has since secured re-election, currently serving his third consecutive term.
