Kazuki Tanabe is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Koga City in Fukuoka Prefecture. Born in Koga, he graduated from Keio University and began his professional career as a journalist for the Mainichi Shimbun. He entered politics in 2011, serving two terms as a member of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly. In 2018, he was elected Mayor of Koga as an independent candidate and was re-elected unopposed in 2022. During his tenure, he has focused on urban revitalization, business attraction, and the implementation of a partnership oath system for same-sex couples.
