Kenneth Paschal is an American politician serving as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives for District 73. Elected in a special election in July 2021, he holds the distinction of being the first Black Republican elected to the Alabama Legislature since the Reconstruction era. Before entering politics, Paschal served for 21 years in the United States Army, retiring as a first sergeant in 2006. His career also includes work with the Alabama Family Rights Association and leadership roles within the American Legion. He is known for his conservative platform, which has included campaigning against critical race theory.
