渡辺孝一

Koichi Watanabe is a Japanese politician and dentist currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Tokyo and raised in Bibai, Hokkaido, he previously served as the Mayor of Iwamizawa for three terms, where he focused on municipal mergers and regional development. Following his transition to national politics, he has held several government positions, including State Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense. Watanabe is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and has been involved in various policy areas, including economic stimulus and national security. He continues to represent Hokkaido's 10th district in the Diet.
