Krešimir Ačkar is a Croatian politician currently serving as the Mayor of Velika Gorica and as a member of the Croatian Parliament. Born in Zagreb in 1983, he holds a Master of Theology from the Catholic Faculty of Theology at the University of Zagreb. Before entering politics, he worked as a high school teacher and as a department head for preschool education and schooling in Velika Gorica. First elected mayor in 2021, he secured a second mandate in 2025 with over 72% of the vote. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
