Kris Fair is an American politician serving as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 3, representing Frederick County. Sworn into office in 2023, he is the first openly gay lawmaker from western Maryland and serves as the chair of the state's LGBTQ+ Caucus. Prior to his legislative career, Fair worked as a salon manager and as the executive director of The Frederick Center. His political platform focuses on climate change mitigation, education reform, and advancing LGBTQ+ rights, including the successful passage of the Carlton R. Smith Act to decriminalize HIV transmission.
