西村 くにこ

Kuniko Nishimura is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly, representing the Kawasaki Ward of Kawasaki City. After graduating from Doshisha University, she worked as an event planner and secretary to a member of the House of Councillors before being first elected to the prefectural assembly in 2011. A member of Komeito, she focuses on disaster prevention, animal welfare, and social support policies. Her legislative achievements include the establishment of the Kanagawa version of 'Disaster City' for emergency training, the introduction of sloshing prediction systems for industrial tanks, and the promotion of zero-culling policies for pets in the prefecture.
