Kunitoshi Arimura

Kunitoshi Arimura is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Shiga Prefectural Assembly. A graduate of Obirin University, he previously worked at Ebara Corporation and served as a Buddhist priest at Shinnen-ji Temple. Arimura began his political career in the Omihachiman City Council, where he served two terms. He was first elected to the Shiga Prefectural Assembly in 2011 and has since held various leadership roles, including serving as the 104th Chairman of the Shiga Prefectural Assembly. After briefly resigning for health reasons in 2025, he successfully returned to office in a 2026 by-election as an independent candidate.
