Lam Akol Ajawin

Lam Akol Ajawin is a South Sudanese politician and the current Minister of Transport of South Sudan, appointed in May 2025. A prominent figure of Shilluk descent, he holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Imperial College London and previously taught at the University of Khartoum. Throughout his extensive career, he has served in various high-level positions, including Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan and Minister of Transportation. He is the leader of the National Democratic Movement and a key figure within the South Sudan Opposition Alliance, known for his involvement in peace negotiations and advocacy for regional political representation.
