Lars Hünich is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Brandenburg, representing the Alternative for Germany (AfD). Born in 1971 in Dresden, he completed training as a mechanical and plant fitter before entering politics. Hünich served as the state managing director of the AfD in Brandenburg from 2017 to 2019 and was first elected to the state parliament in 2019. Since January 2025, he has chaired the Committee for Agriculture, Environment, and Consumer Protection. He is known for his controversial political rhetoric regarding the German party system, which has drawn scrutiny from the Brandenburg Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
