Lauri Lyly is a Finnish politician and former trade union leader who served as the Mayor of Tampere from 2017 to 2021. Before entering municipal politics, he had a long career in the labor movement, notably serving as the chairperson of the Finnish Electrical Workers' Union from 1997 to 2009 and as the chairperson of the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) from 2009 to 2016. As mayor, he focused on urban development and employment initiatives before stepping down following the 2021 municipal elections.
