Lerato Mikateko Ngobeni is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since the 2024 general election. She currently serves as the parliamentary chief whip for ActionSA. Before her national parliamentary career, she was a councillor for the City of Johannesburg and chaired the council's environment and infrastructure services committee. Ngobeni has a professional background as a programme manager and sustainability specialist, having worked with Harvard University's Centre for African Studies and coordinated readiness efforts for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Johnson C. Smith University, graduating summa cum laude.
