Lesley Lopez

Lesley Lopez is an American politician serving as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 39 since 2019. Born in Bermuda and raised in Southern California, she holds a B.A. in political science from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.P.A. from George Washington University. Before her election, she worked as a journalist for various media outlets and served as a communications director for several political organizations, including the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. In the legislature, Lopez has focused on gun safety, reproductive rights, and immigration policy, notably passing legislation to regulate privately made firearms and expanding abortion access. She previously served as president of the Women's Legislative Caucus of Maryland.
