Liesl Tesch

Liesl Tesch is an Australian politician, former professional athlete, and educator who has served as the Member for Gosford in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly since 2017. Before entering politics, she had a distinguished career as a Paralympic athlete, competing in wheelchair basketball at five Paralympic Games and winning two gold medals in sailing. Following her election, she was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Disability Inclusion, Families and Communities. Tesch is a strong advocate for disability rights and inclusive sports, having co-founded the charity Sports Matters to promote athletic opportunities for people with disabilities in developing nations.
