Lina Hamid is a Canadian politician who was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in November 2024 to represent the riding of Fairview-Clayton Park. As a member of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party, she holds the distinction of being the first Sudanese Canadian elected to a provincial or federal position in Canada. Prior to her political career, she served as a Senior Manager at the United Way. Currently, she acts as the NDP critic for Justice, Community Services, Immigration, the Office of Cybersecurity and Digital Solutions, and Youth.
