Raised in Erewash, she spent over two decades working as a criminal solicitor for the Crown Prosecution Service, specializing in serious and organized crime. Before entering national politics, she served as a local councillor for the Amber Valley Borough Council. In 2026, she successfully introduced the Unauthorised Entry to Football Matches Act, which criminalized ticketless entry to football stadiums. She currently serves as a member of the Justice Select Committee and as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Ministry of Justice.
