Lisa Grafstein

Lisa Grafstein is an American politician and civil rights attorney serving as a member of the North Carolina Senate for the 13th district since 2023. A Democrat, she previously worked as litigation counsel for Disability Rights North Carolina, specializing in employment law. Throughout her legislative career, she has advocated for policies such as municipal rent regulation and has been a vocal opponent of restrictions on gender-affirming care and restrictive voter ID requirements. She is notable for being the only out LGBTQ member of the North Carolina state senate as of 2023.
