
Élisabeth Brière

Élisabeth Brière is a Canadian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Sherbrooke since 2019. A notary by profession, she worked in the field for nearly 30 years and served as president of the Maison Aube-Lumière palliative care residence before entering federal politics. Brière made history as the first woman elected to represent Sherbrooke and the first Liberal to hold the seat since 1984. She briefly served in the federal cabinet as Minister responsible for the Canada Revenue Agency and Minister of Veterans Affairs in 2025.
