Louise Stutes

Louise Stutes is an American politician serving as a member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing House District 5 on Kodiak Island. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the Speaker of the Alaska House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023, elected to the position by a bipartisan coalition. Before her tenure in the state legislature, Stutes served on the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly from 2006 to 2013. Throughout her political career, she has been a prominent advocate for the commercial fishing industry and the Alaska Marine Highway system. A long-time resident of Kodiak, she previously owned the Village Bar for 25 years.
