Álvaro Bila

Álvaro Miguel Bila is a Portuguese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Portimão. He assumed office in June 2024 following the resignation of his predecessor, Isilda Gomes, and was subsequently re-elected in October 2025. A member of the Socialist Party, Bila has focused his administration on municipal development, infrastructure improvements, and enhancing local security. He is also known for advocating for regional economic measures, such as toll exemptions on the A22 motorway to support local workers.
