Lydia Edwards

Lydia Edwards is an American attorney and politician currently serving as a member of the Massachusetts Senate, representing the 1st Suffolk and Middlesex district since 2022. She is the first woman and person of color to represent this district. Previously, she served on the Boston City Council from 2018 to 2022, where she was a prominent advocate for affordable housing, municipal budget reform, and environmental divestment. In addition to her legislative work, Edwards is a JAG officer in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and has a background as a public interest attorney.
