Mae Peshlakai

Mae Peshlakai is an American politician, Navajo weaver, and silversmith serving as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives since 2023. Representing Legislative District 7, which encompasses the Navajo Nation and the Hopi Tribe, she focuses on legislative priorities including education, health care, infrastructure, and veterans' issues. A long-time resident of Cameron, Arizona, she has been active in local politics for nearly 30 years and currently serves as the chairwoman of the Indigenous People's Caucus. Beyond her political career, she is a traditional Navajo elder and a renowned artisan who has spent decades demonstrating Navajo culture and craftsmanship across the United States.
