Makhotso Magdeline "Maggie" Sotyu is a South African politician serving as the Deputy Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries since 2019. A long-standing member of the African National Congress, she has represented the party in the National Assembly since 1999. Throughout her career, she has held several ministerial roles, including Deputy Minister of Police and Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture. Before entering national politics, she was active in the trade union movement and the South African National Civics Organisation.
