Mahamat Assileck Halata is a Chadian politician currently serving as the Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Housing. Born in Mao, Kanem, he holds degrees from the Hotel School of Marrakech, the International Higher Institute of Tourism in Tangier, and a Master's degree from Sciences Po Paris. Formerly a prominent figure and vice-president of the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD), he transitioned into government service following national dialogue efforts in 2022. He was excluded from the UFDD in 2024.
