Maider Etxebarria

Maider Etxebarria García is a Spanish politician who has served as the Mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz since 2023, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz in 1976, she holds degrees in tourism and German studies. Before her election as mayor, she served as the Director of Tourism and Hospitality for the Basque Government from 2016 to 2019 and later acted as deputy mayor. She represents the Socialist Party of the Basque Country and secured her current mayoral office through a coalition agreement.
