Makoto Joko is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Hannan City in Osaka Prefecture. Born in 1973 in Hannan, he graduated from the Kinki University Faculty of Science and Engineering and worked as a licensed first-class architect, establishing his own design office. Before his election as mayor in 2024, he served four terms as a member of the Hannan City Council, where he held leadership roles including City Council Chair, Vice Chair, and Audit Commissioner. He was elected mayor after defeating three other candidates in the 2024 municipal election.
