Marga Waanders

Marga Waanders is a Dutch politician and administrator who served as the mayor of Waadhoeke from 2018 until 2025. A member of the Labour Party (PvdA), she previously held the position of mayor of Dongeradeel starting in 2009. Before her mayoral career, she served as a municipal councilor and alderman in Leeuwarden, where she focused on urban planning and finance. In March 2025, she stepped down from her mayoral duties due to a terminal illness, and her tenure officially concluded on October 1, 2025.
