Mark Boumans

Mark Boumans is a Dutch politician and administrator currently serving as the Mayor of Doetinchem, a position he has held since May 2017. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he has previously served as the Mayor of Haren and as a provincial deputy in Groningen. In 2023, he was elected vice-chairman of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG). Recognized for his administrative contributions, he was named 'Best Local Administrator' in 2025 and was appointed a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau in the same year.
