Mark Harris

Profile

Mark Harris is an American Baptist pastor and politician serving as the U.S. representative for North Carolina's 8th congressional district since 2025. A social conservative, Harris previously served as the president of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and as a lead pastor at several churches. His political career includes multiple congressional campaigns, most notably a 2018 race that was not certified due to allegations of ballot fraud involving a campaign operative. Harris did not face charges in that investigation and successfully returned to politics in 2024. He is a member of the House Freedom Caucus and holds conservative positions on issues including abortion, the federal budget, and LGBTQ rights.
