Markus Ibert

Markus Ibert is a German politician who has served as the Lord Mayor (Oberbürgermeister) of Lahr/Schwarzwald since November 1, 2019. An independent candidate, he secured his position by winning 55% of the vote in the second round of the 2019 mayoral election. Before entering his current office, Ibert held various administrative roles, including serving as a department head at the Lahr municipal treasury and as a managing director for local inter-municipal associations. He holds a degree in public administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Kehl.
