Masahiro Takeda is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Soo City in Kagoshima Prefecture. Born in 1962 in the former Sueyoshi Town, he began his career with the Kagoshima Railway Administration before joining the Sueyoshi Town office in 1988. Throughout his local government career, he held various leadership roles within the Soo City administration, including head of the Economic Division, Agriculture and Forestry Promotion Division, and Commerce, Industry and Tourism Division. He was elected Mayor of Soo City in July 2025, campaigning on a platform that included a pledge to secure at least 3 billion yen in revenue through the hometown tax donation program.
