Masaki Yamashita is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture. Born in 1966 in the former town of Isawa, he graduated from Takushoku University before working for Fujikyu Corporation and later serving as a public secretary to House of Representatives member Mitsuo Horiuchi. Yamashita served four terms as a member of the Yamanashi Prefectural Assembly, where he held the position of Policy Research Council Chairman for the Liberal Democratic Party. He was first elected Mayor of Fuefuki in 2016 and has since secured re-election, currently serving his third term in office.
