Masato Takegami is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Matsusaka in Mie Prefecture. Born in 1962, he graduated from the Nagoya Institute of Technology before working for the Mie Prefectural Government. He served three terms as a member of the Mie Prefectural Assembly, where he was affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party. After an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2013, he was first elected as Mayor of Matsusaka in 2015 and has since been re-elected to the position, currently serving his third term.
