Matthew Shepherd

Matthew Joseph Shepherd is an American attorney and politician serving as a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for District 6. Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, in 1976, he graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Shepherd has served in the state legislature since 2011 and previously held the position of Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives for multiple terms, beginning in 2018. In addition to his legislative career, he is a practicing attorney and an active member of his local community in El Dorado.
