Maxime Prévot

Maxime Prévot is a Belgian politician currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation in the De Wever Government. A member of the Les Engagés party, he previously served as the mayor of Namur from 2012 to 2025. Prévot began his political career in the youth chapter of the cdH and later led the party, overseeing its rebranding to Les Engagés in 2022. Known for his centre-right leanings combined with progressive social views, he has been an active voice in international affairs, notably advocating for the recognition of Palestinian statehood and the implementation of sanctions against Israel in response to the conflict in Gaza.
