Mekdes Daba Feyssa is an Ethiopian politician and medical professional who has served as the Minister of Health of Ethiopia since February 2024. Before entering her current ministerial role, she held significant positions in global health, including serving as a team lead at the World Health Organization in Geneva and as the president of the Ethiopian Obstetricians and Gynecologists Association. Recognized for her expertise in reproductive health, she is noted as the first female family planning and reproductive health sub-specialist in Ethiopia. In 2021, she received the FIGO Award for her exceptional contributions to the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
