Abiy Ahmed Ali is an Ethiopian politician serving as the Prime Minister of Ethiopia since 2018 and leader of the Prosperity Party. A former military intelligence officer, he rose to prominence through his work in the Information Network Security Agency and his role as a member of the House of Peoples' Representatives. Upon taking office, he initiated significant political and economic reforms, including the release of political prisoners and the liberalization of state-owned sectors, for which he was awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. His tenure has also been marked by the Tigray War and subsequent regional conflicts, as well as ongoing challenges regarding human rights and ethnic tensions within the country.
